RAIN DATE! Field Trip: Mad River Country

  • Levitt Pavilion Dayton 134 South Main Street Dayton, OH, 45402 United States (map)

Rain date from 9/8 hike. Join us for this newly scheduled date of October 20th for a lovely autumn hike in the gem city.

Type: Hike
Difficulty: Easy to Medium Intensity - Moderately paced.

Join Urban Rangers Midwest on a collaborative journey with like minded folks from Dayton, Ohio! Planned in part with professional minimalist Colleen Stevens of Midwest Minimal, architecture enthusiast Alexandra Duncan of Dayton Architecture, and designer Valarie Smith (Oh, Hopscotch!).

Meet us at the brand new Levitt Pavilion at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 8th for an urban hike expected to last approximately 3 hours. This tour will encompass urban exploration, urban planning and preservation, architecture, connecting to the city on foot rather than a vehicle, and meeting others who share a passion for the Dayton community.

We will walk through 6 unique neighborhoods throughout the city that will be reached via sidewalks, alleys, bike paths, and bridges. This is not a historic tour, but an opportunity to discover hidden gems throughout Dayton. After our hike, please join us for cocktails at the historic and nationally recognized Century Bar.

Wear your comfortable walking shoes. Bring water for hydration.

In 1797, Daniel C. Cooper laid out Mad River Road, the first overland connection between Cincinnati and Dayton, opening the "Mad River Country" to settlement.
